This department needed feedback from 96 sites every year. In the previous year, they sent out an Excel spreadsheet to each site, and when it was returned, they typed the responses into an Access database for analysis. This was a very time-consuming process and led to many transcription errors. The Access database was modified to:

  Find the spreadsheets placed into a specified folder.

  One by one, import the Excel data into a new record of the Access database.

  At the click of a button, the process now takes the computer around 35 seconds to import all the data, but almost as importantly with 100% accuracy.
